PRISMA® PVT 4.0 - Hybrid collector for pitched roof installation

PRISMA® PVT HORIZON - hybrid collector for flat roof installation.
The Prisma® PVT 4.0 collectors combine a PV double glass high-performance module with a highly efficient copper absorber installed on the rear. The dimensions and external appearance from the visible side are identical to the PRISMA® 1Sun® PV modules. The combination of PRISMA® PVT 4.0 and PRISMA® 1SUN® creates a harmonious overall appearance on the roof.
A water-glycol solution flows through the rear absorber. The individual modules are hydraulically connected to form a system and the waste heat from the PV cells and the ambient heat is stored in the TWL buffer storage tank via a circulation pump using a heat exchanger. The pre-heated heating water can then be raised to a higher temperature level by various conventional boilers or a heat pump.
The monocrystalline photovoltaic module simultaneously produces electrical energy, which is fed into the household grid via an inverter. Electricity production is significantly increased by cooling the PV cells. The performance data of the PV cells are usually specified at 25° C. In summer, however, surface temperatures of up to 80° C are reached. The output of the PV cells decreases by approx. 0.4 percent per degree increase in temperature. At a cell temperature of 75° C, this is a 20 percent reduction in output! With regard to the electrical energy generated, the focus should be on the highest possible level of self-consumption, as the feed-in tariffs are far below the cost of purchasing electricity from the energy supplier.
In addition to the use of solar batteries, this can also be supported by the "Power to Heat" system concept. Excess solar power is converted into heat energy using a heating element and stored in the buffer cylinder. If your heat pump is "Smart Grid Ready", it can be switched on as an alternative to the heating element. This energy is then available to generate hot water and support the heating circuit.
