Which heat pumps are PVT-ready?
PVT systems combine electricity and heat generation in one area. For this heat to be used effectively, a suitable heat pump is required – more specifically, a brine/water heat pump that is suitable for the special conditions of PVT collectors.
PVT collectors deliver very different source temperatures depending on the weather, season and solar radiation. This is precisely where the term Ready for PVT into play.

PVT-ready
Brine/water heat pumps that are specifically suitable for operation with PVT collectors are considered PVT-ready.
For a heat pump to be considered PVT-ready, it must be able to operate within a wide source temperature range, among other criteria. In Germany, a range of approximately -15°C to +70°C is typically cited for this. Furthermore, the control system plays an important role in safely handling temperature peaks and intelligently managing different heat sources.
PVT collectors not only supply electricity but also serve as a heat source for the heat pump. The absorbed solar and environmental heat is transferred to the brine via a heat exchanger and fed into the heat pump system.
Overview: PVT-ready heat pumps
The following list shows heat pumps we further recommend for use with PVT Hybrid collectors:

Please note: The specific design of a PVT heat pump system always depends on the building, the heating load, the available collector area, the temperature levels, and the hydraulic integration. Manufacturer approval therefore does not replace professional planning.
